How
to Make Tuxedo Strawberries
By Brooks Carver
Making tuxedo strawberries is not only fun, but easier then one
might think. This is a great way to add class and a little style to
any buffet table. I personally have used this for numerous weddings,
my child's school dances, birthdays, and even just as a way to dress
up our table at our family BBQ. With these simple steps your treat
will be the talk of the party! See how to make chocolate tuxedo
strawberries below!
You will need.
- 1 lb ripe strawberries
- 6 oz white chocolate bits
- 8 oz chocolate chips
- 2 tsp flavorless oil or shortening
- wax paper
- toothpicks
- paper towels things could get a little messy!
First thing first, wash your strawberries and gently pat them dry. I
usually line them up on a paper towel to dry. Once dry I lay down my
wax paper, and now your ready to get dipping!
Next, you will want to apply the white chocolate. First, heat your
mixture in the microwave or by oven top. Be sure you have all the
lumps out of your mixture before you start dipping. Make sure you
have a deep bowl it makes it much easier to dip the strawberry
straight down to get the nice smooth even coat of white chocolate!
Make sure you always let the extra chocolate drip off you don't want
any extra lumps! Once you have covered all of your strawberries, let
them sit for about 10-15 min until they are fully dry.
Then, melt your chocolate the same as the white chocolate. Now
instead of completely dipping the strawberry, dip one side, then
rotate to the other side, making sure you leave a small V shape in
the middle. Remember to let the excess drip off, this is very
important this is the final product that your guest will be seeing.
Once dry and you have completed all your strawberries. You can begin
applying the necktie and buttons. Using your toothpicks dip them
into the chocolate and right above the V of the tuxedo make two dots
for the buttons, you may have to re dip a couple of times to get the
right amount then add your bow tie!
Ta-Da! You have now completed a wonderful and unique dessert that
people will be talking about. And trust me from now on you will be
getting requests from friends and family to bring your famous tuxedo
strawberries to almost every event!
I hope you were able to learn how to make chocolate tuxedo
strawberries! Have a great day!
Glass Teapots
make great gifts for that difficult someone to shop for. A
Jenaer glass teapot would make a beautiful gift, especially for
flowering tea!
