Steps for after Engagement

We all look forward to that big day, some more than others, but what happens after he pops the big question, and of course you’ve said “Yes”.

Here are a few tips to help you along when you find yourself in that situation.

Part 1
• Choose Minister and set date and time (must be done with minister before anything is printed).
• Tell Family.
• Choose wedding party.
• Set wedding budget (include family if applicable.)
• Choose a wedding coordinator.
• Book church.
• Book evening reception hall if applicable.
• For evening reception discuss specifics regarding food, service etc.
• Wedding colors
• Wedding dress
• Choose bridesmaids.
• Choose flowers
• Wedding cake
• Photographer
• Videographer
• Order invitations (leave enough time to mail to guest and receive response).
• Discuss and book honeymoon (if applicable).

Part 2
• Marriage License
• Prepare guest list (include family if applicable).
• Mail out invitations.
• Purchase wedding bands
• Choose tuxedo style.
• Book hotel for wedding night if applicable.
• Apartment hunting.
• Choose color scheme for shower purpose as a couple.
• Start planning for music or singers (put all music on CD-2 copies).

Part 3
Confirm Details such as:
• Reception.
• Decorations
• Follow-up of response card.
• Bride and bridesmaids dress pickup.
• Groom and groomsmen’s suit pickup.
• Cake pickup or delivery.
• Marriage license pickup.
• Delivery of flowers
• Rehearsal
• Photographer.
• Videographer
• Musician and Singers
• Drivers
• Gifts for parents and wedding party (if applicable.)
• Minister
• Church
